Gavin Garrett’s 1-80 In-Game Leveling Guide

Posted by Lawbringer in Faster Leveling, Gold Farming, World of Warcraft, WotLK

WotLK goes live on November 13th and a lot of our subscribers who have been paying attention to our advice have been waiting for this post for weeks.

We’ve been leveling in the beta from the very beginning, and we know it backwards and forwards now.  We’ve run through virtually every quest in Northrend, and tested and re-tested routes and completion order many times in the process.

We’ve been telling you for a while that WotLK is almost like a whole new game.  I’ve spent the last four years playing this game, and we’ve never seen a content expansion like this, the Burning Crusade doesn’t even come close. Northrend is massive, and the leap in the amount of experience you need to go from one level to another is monstrous.  With thousands of new quests, and the new way Blizz designed the quest hubs, it can be mind-boggling if you don’t know what to do.

I know how to level fast, so fast that I now hold the world record time from 1-70, and I want to give all of our readers the same paths I took all the way to level 80 so you can be prepared ahead of time.  Leveling to 80 is much harder than anything we’ve ever done solo, bar none.

When I sat down to write this guide, I didn’t want just another also-ran guide like all of the other ones out there.  Leveling guides are everywhere and they just aren’t that good for a number of reasons.  How can you even follow a guide that has you picking up more than 25 quests at a time?  There is one very popular guide that does that more than once - and that is way below our standards at DYS.

So we put our heads together and our noses to the grindstone, and after more than 6 months and hundreds of hours of work, we have the very best leveling guide you will ever see.  Not only that, it works right in the game!  Gavin Garrett’s in-game leveling guide mod shows you exactly what to do, where to do it, and guides your through the exact same paths Gavin himself used so you can squeeze every last second out of your played time all the way to 80.

Here Are A Few Of The Things You Get In Gavin Garrett’s Leveling Guide:
·

  • In-Game Mod - This makes the guide worth more than the price all by itself.  You’ll never have to alt-tab to look at some other page or print out a guide again.
  • Floating Way-point Arrow - The arrow points you to the precise location you need to go next.  You never have to run around looking for a single mob or NPC ever again.
  • Back Doors  - I did every quest so many times that I can show you paths and ways to get to many locations that will help you avoid dozens of mobs so you can grab the quest item or named mob in record time.
  • Fastest Quest Order - It’s one thing to do a guide with a bunch of quests, but there has never been a guide that can lead you through hundreds of quests in the most efficient order possible.
  • Traveling Strategies - I’ve even included my unique hearthstone points so that you can cut down on a ton of travel time.  This one set of things can shave hours off your time to 80.
  • Class Quests - The guide even ‘reads’ your toon class and rockets you through every class quest you really need to do, and skips the ones you don’t
  • Quest Tips and Tricks - Every single step has the very best tips I use to complete each quest in record time.  Just mouseover the step to see what I do to Dominate every single one.
  • All The Way To 80 - As bad as some of the other guides are when it comes to old content just to 70 - can you really believe that they will be worth anything for the new 70-80 content?  Gavin’s Leveling guide will take you from 70-80 in the same Dominating way it took you from 1-70.

This beauty is that this is not just a leveling guide; It’s an in-game personal tutorial that will guide you all the way through the game so you can completely Dominate in /played time.  With this guide by your side, it won’t matter how many other people on your server are vying for the fastest time to 80 – you’ll constantly be one step ahead of them.

Gavin’s Guide Shows You:

  • Every quest you should accept, and every one you shouldn’t; you will never waste time on low drop rates again.
  • When to run to a new zone and ditch the last few things in your current zone.  Don’t spend four hours finishing up a zone when you can get more experience in one hour by moving on.
  • How to navigate the enormous Northrend zones.  Northrend zones are massive, Gavin’s guide will have you clearing them in record time with no wasted traveling.
  • How to beat the hardest quests in WotLK.  I’ll show you back-doors, hard-to-find quest hubs, and strategies for soloing 2 player quests that will get you even more xp per hour and some awesome blue quest reward items to rocket you past the competition.

I know there are lots of other leveling guides out there. I’ve already seen most of them and you know what? They suck. They use poor traveling routes, spend too much time in the wrong zones, waste time on bad quests and are just flat out poorly written, and NONE of them are faster. We have a saying here at the DYS office – “you can do the best you can, or you can be the best there is.” My leveling Guide is the best there is…

Guaranteed
I’m so positive that you’ll absolutely LOVE this guide that I’m willing to guarantee it. Try my in-game leveling Guide out for a full 30 days. If you’re not happy with the guide, just email us here at DYS and I’ll happily give you a full refund.

Free Updates
Even though we played the Beta diligently, there will be some changes with coming patches.  The Beta was still incredibly buggy when it finally closed and as a result we may add some things when they are proven to work well so we’ll update the Guide regularly. You’ll receive each of these updates completely free of charge.

Instant Download
My Inscription Guide is a downloadable mod file - you’ll have it on your hard drive in under 2 minutes.

Here’s the bottom line. This guide is your step-by-step battle plan for dominating your server when it comes to leveling. Take a look at all the comments on this post from people who bought our Inscription guide and used it.

Rob Writes:

Gavin I Would Like to thank you guys for the excellent guide and the advice given around the AH. . .and am waiting expectantly for the more general gold making guide and levelling guide!!!

Sarah Wrote:

Gavin, i just got done reading your inscription guide and ive never paid for a guide for warcraft before but i have to say, this is awesome!!!!! Thanks for everything you do!

Daryl Says:

Hey Gavin, I just bought the Guide and I tell you this thing must have taken you forever! I hope you don’t have another job because I don’t think there is ANY way for you to get any sleep otherwise. I appriciate all the hard work.

Theos Wrote:

Without a doubt this guide is essential! In addition to Gavin’s and Lawbringer’s words of wisdom I have been doing some additonal research on my own (referance inscription) and the info they put out today isn’t common knowledge on the street at all. Its packed with all kinds of little gems of info that will ensure you maximize your profits. Without it you might make some serious errors come patch-day! This is the most if not the ONLY comprehensive guide out there. On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a definitive 10! Worth every penny!

“Nobody” Commented:

This guide is nothing short of amazing. It consists of where you need to train, what to train, where to pick herbs, and what/how to sell for the best profits. It may be really in-depth, but that is because these guys have put together every little detail you need to know and more. I can’t imagine the time spent on this.

Koyote Said:

Just got the guide and I’m blown away by the step by step details. Also, great for planning what herbs I need. I had a lot of misconceptions based on other guides, such as the WoW forums etc…I found that I overstocked herbs on some and had at least one type of pigment that I didn’t have enough of. Huge surprise as I thought for sure I had enough. I would have been caught out paying through the nose to stock up on that ink to level further. Time to hit the farming again before patch to get what I need. Great guide, would recommend to anyone not on Dath’Remar (that’s the server I am going to dominate lol). 2 Thumbs up on $7 well spent. Thanks.

Alan Wrote:

I have been subscribed to your articles for months now, and I have always found that they come very handy. Im Ashamed to admit that i used to think you were a scammer, it wasnt untill you recently posted this article that I decided to test drive your guides. I was preparing myself for a scam, untill i received and read your Inscription leveling guide. And I never thought i would actually be replying with good comments about it, I seriously had the impression that you wrote all of these comments about your guide to yourself to make you look more legit. But this has got to be the best guide i have ever seen, and i am very impressed, i thought i was prepared for inscription bit i was wrong, not untill this guide have i really been ready for inscription. I am also much more confident on using the AH. To anyone that is considering buying this guide, i highly reccomend it. It is only foolish to miss this oppurtunity, this window into lots of gold. And gavin and his team have showed us how to take full advantage of it. Thank you so much.

Radjim Wrote:

I found the guide I purchased to be invaluable really. Saved me a lot of time (and it took a good 3 hours to go from 1-368 and I had all the herbs in stock)  The sweet spot herbs as predicted by DYS where indeed the ones. Countless people in trade chat WTB Fadeleaf/Khadgars/Gold Thorn.  I chuckled to myself as I looked at my lovely 50 or so stacks (double what i originally had saved before reading the guide)  Total from all Glyph sales after about 60 hours is about 8k and i still have about half of my herbs left.

There is simply no serious competition for a Gavin Garrett Guide - how many other guys hold the World leveling record? Only one.  I went out there and blew them all away, and now it’s your turn to follow me all the way to 80.  No other guide makes it this smooth and easy.  And you don’t have to be a pro.  Even someone with limited experience and below average gear will be able to level faster than almost everyone else because you will know exactly where to go and what to do in the very best order to run off and leave even the T6 guys - IF you let Gavin show you the way.

Even though my leveling Guide will be the one mod you will never want to live without, we’re not charging a fortune for it. We are going to make the same deal for all of our DYS readers just like we did for the Inscription Guide.

You can get Gavin Garrett’s 1-80 Leveling Guide right now for only Half Price.  A FULL 50% off - only for DYS readers! The regular price for this can’t-do-without guide is $47.  But for the next few days, you can get the best leveling guide available at any price for just $23.50.  Remember, that price includes free updates, and your purchase is covered by our 30-day, 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Go read the reviews below this post - our customers LOVE our guides, and there’s a reason… they’re the best available.

DYS Goes On The Air!

Posted by Lawbringer in Podcast, World of Warcraft, WotLK

You heard that right.  Well, maybe it’s better to say you WILL be able to hear us right!  DYS is going to bring you a weekly podshow that you can get right through your RSS subscription and here at the site.  We’ve designed the show to make DYS an even more valuable resource tool for all of our readers.

Your hosts will be Gavingarrett, the Tauren Hunter, and Moneybagguns, the shameless capitalist Gnome Mage.  Every Friday, these two toons lay aside their differences (and try not to think about honorable kills) for a while and meet in their studio overlooking Booty Bay.  (We have a bruiser posted right outside the door to make sure things don’t go too badly).

Every Monday we’ll give you a chance to ask questions that we will answer during the podcast.  Then each Friday you can Get the answers straight from Gavin and Moneybagguns!

Gavin knows the game inside and out, and his alter ego from the game is ready to fill you in on how he completely Dominates every aspect of game play.  Moneybagguns (aka Lawbringer’s evil AH market mage) has agreed to let you in on his secrets to WoW wealth.

In their studio, under the hot Stranglethorn Vale sun (and no air conditioning we might add) they take their spots in front of the golden DYS mike and get in depth with your questions.

The DYS podcast will even bring you special guests.  We’ll find the latest breaking news and tidbits to keep you ahead of everyone else so you can truly Dominate.  Our two experts will be able to help you take your game to a completely new level.

The podcast will air every Friday once they’ve had a chance to review your questions.  Now, we can’t promise they will answer every single one, but they have assured us that they will do their very best to give everyone a chance to get their comments on the show.  You simply cannot get coverage this complete (or fun) anywhere else on the web.

Since this IS Monday, you might as well get started right away.  Post your questions below and we’ll send them to our hosts for the very first show this Friday!  That’s right, the first DYS podcast goes on the air this Friday!

Post your questions for Gavin and Moneybagguns in the comments below and then join us on Friday.  You just thought DYS was good, we’re about to give you to a whole new way to get informed, get bad, and get to Dominating.

Get those questions in now and we look forward to meeting you back here Friday for the first weekly edition of the DYS podcast show.  Gavin and Moneybaggins have also been kind enough to introduce themselves for you!  Just click the play below to listen right now.

Making Gold Grow On Trees

Posted by Gavin in Auction House, Gold Building, WotLK

News Flash!

Inscription is gold Making Machine

We’ve never seen anything like what inscription is about to do to the WoW marketplace.  Every single toon on every single realm is going to want glyphs.  They will want them the minute the patch goes live.  They will want them for every alt.  They will want the very best glyphs.  They will want minor glyphs.  They will want them, and they will want them so badly they will pay almost anything a high level scribe will charge.

We’ve been working with inscription for more than a month now.  When Blizz added the glyphs to the profession, we did some serious herb farming and started over from scratch in inscription so that we could begin working on a guide for leveling the profession.  What we found will shock you.

You know we’re not given to exaggeration.  Shock is one of those words thrown around pretty lightly these days, but in this case it may actually not be strong enough.  If you’ve ever had problems making gold, this is your shot.  If you know how to make decent gold and want to take the quantum leap to dragon size piles of it, this is your chance.  There simply is not enough hyperbole to describe just how big a money-maker this one is going to be, and it’s coming very soon.

Just to prove a point about this whole gold thing - I’m going to show you something.  Last Thursday (when we heard that inscription was going to go live in the next patch) I hopped on the Beta realm right away and got to work farming herbs like a wildman.  I actually started by copying a pre-made toon to the Beta.  The pre-mades are wicked.  I chose a level 80 druid so that I could use flight form to farm herbs.  This guy came with every piece of high end PvP gear (for all three specs) a flying mount, an epic land mount, every flight path and 5,000 gold to boot.  It was the perfect setup for running through this profession in record time.

Well, I spent about 1,000 of that 5,000 gold while I worked inscription through the first 100 skill points.  There were no herbs on the AH, so I had to farm every single one.  I learned a LOT about how to farm for inscription specifically, it’s very different from farming for alchemy.  As I leveled inscription, I made sure to make a variety of glyphs for each class when I was creating them for skill points.  Then I started selling them at the AH.

Now, every single toon in the Beta has the opportunity to do exactly what I did.  But they didn’t, so I was about the only dude with glyphs on the ah most of the time.  Other people have been working on their inscription for weeks and were way ahead of me.  It didn’t matter.  I just know more about how to work a market, and I beat them all silly.  I mean I crushed them, pwned them, Dominated.

When you really know how to work a market and not just sell stuff, it makes a big difference.  We’ve been telling you for weeks to save up all your herbs for sale - the prices are going to be insane for them when inscription comes out - that’s still true, but don’t you dare sell a single herb.  If you’ve never taken my advice, listen this one time, just this once.  Send all those herbs to a level 70 toon and get ready to make some real gold.  Big gold, huge gold, enormous/mountains/piles/heaps/avalanches of the stuff.

I started selling those glyphs I was making. They sold so fast I couldn’t believe it.  So I made some more, marked up the prices and they sold even faster.  I couldn’t keep up with the demand, not even close.  So I marked up my prices again, and still didn’t have an auction end.  In just four days.  Let me repeat that, just 4 days I made so much gold I couldn’t carry any more.

There are some rumors that float around that are basically nearly impossible to confirm.  There is supposed to be some sort of cap on how much gold you can carry on a single toon.  Some crazy number that only a few of us know about.  Well, I was opening up all those piles of gold in the beta and suddenly I couldn’t open them any more.  I tried logging out - no help.  Then I took a peek at my gold total, and there it was.

You feeling me now?  When I tell you how to make gold, you already know that I know what I’m talking about.  At least I hope you do.  I will grant you that this was in the beta and everyone had some gold to throw around, but to hit the gold cap in just 4 days?

When we post things at DYS we mean business (even if that business is just fun stuff like the motorcycles).  Lawbringer and the rest of our writers are good at what they do.  You simply will not find another site that has a team of people that can give you better information on every aspect of the game.

If you only got one tip like this a YEAR it could make all the difference in the world to the way you play the game.  Once a month and you could very well get a lot better.  But we post articles every few days and every single one of them has to reach a high standard.

You may not always agree with everything we say.  Every single article may not apply to what you like to do.  But when we say we are experts we can back it up.  The screenshot above is not a mock-up.  I will actually mail one person on the Murmur Beta realm 100,000 gold to prove it.  There is probably that much waiting for me in the mailbox anyway that I can’t even take out right now.

Now, I’m not saying you will every hit the gold cap on a live server, although I hear Lawbringer is making a serious run at it.  But if I can hit 215,000+ gold on the test server in less than a week - you might want to consider listening to me when I talk about - well anything.  It’s sort of like those old EF Hutton commercials.  When Gavin talks, you should listen.

We are going to keep on posting the tips, tools and information you need to completely Dominate the next patch, the WotLK expansion, and beyond.  In the next few days we have some really exciting tools for you - I just wanted you to understand when I say exciting - you should probably look at the word in a whole new light.

Stick with me, and take my tips as though they were worth 215,000 gold and I WILL help you learn to Dominate!

Glyphs - A First Look

Posted by Nameless Demon Hunter in General Tips, World of Warcraft, WotLK

Inscription is the new profession coming to WotLK. This will not be something that is optional for player enhancement; everyone will be using it in one way or another.

The common reason players will be subjugated to inscription is the need for glyphs. Glyphs are the main feature of inscription and what they do is power the player in certain abilities depending on what glyphs they decide to get.

Glyphs are kind of like gems and enchanting combined. They offer small enchants to certain aspects of a certain class. Unlike gems however, they are placed in their own little fancy UI (user interface), not on equipment or into sockets.

As of now, players can have a total of 6 glyphs (3 major and 3 minor). Major glyphs provide vital enhancement to spells and abilities such as an extra 5 yrd range to ambush or 50% to avoid interruption while casting wrath. Minor glyphs provide small and unique enhancement to spells and abilities such as lowering spell costs or changing an animation.

How glyphs differ from enchanting and gemming is that the enhancements are not a boost to stats. Instead, glyphs provide enhancements to abilities and spells. This is what will make inscription so unique and demanding, every player will need it.

Even at lower level glyphs are available. The number of glyphs able to use are lowered according to levels, as well as the types of glyphs used. Here is a list of what players should expect at what level:

· Level 1-14: None

· Level 15-29: 1 Major, 1 Minor

· Level 30-44: 2 Major, 2 Minor

· Level 45-59: 2 Major, 2 Minor

· Level 60 and up: 3 Major, 3 Minor

As for what glyphs to get, each glyph is made for a specific ability for a specific class. Here is a list of some glyphs to expect (1 of each class):

Glyph of Lifebloom – Increase the duration of lifebloom by 1 sec

Glyph of Steady Shot – Damage of steady shot increased by 10% when target is effect by serpent sting

Glyph of Death Coil – Increase duration of death coil by .5 seconds

Glyph of Blade Flurry – Reduce energy cost of Blade Flurry by 100%

Glyph of Dispel Magic – When you dispel the target it heals them for 6% of total health

Glyph of Healing Wave – Your Healing Wave also heals you for 20% of the effect when you heal someone else

Glyph of Fireball – Increase initial damage dealt of fireball by 5% but removes the DoT effect

Glyph of Flash of Light – Your flash of light heals 50% less, but also heals for 200% of initial effect over 15 sec

Just these few examples show how powerful glyphs can be. In a way, they are somewhat more of an improved talent point, furthering the specialization of how you want you to be. Glyphs bring a more unique feel of how you play your character.

WotLK Hunter Pets - Major Changes

Posted by Gavin in Hunter Pets, World of Warcraft, WotLK

When I say major changes I mean that more has changed than has stayed the same.  So many changes, in fact, that it’s going to be hard to do more than just hit the highlights in the space we have here.  But since we’ve had so many requests for info from the Beta, we can feel pretty comfortable publishing these since they seem about 95% locked in and will probably stay the same on release day.  So let’s get to it.

First, a LOT of the effort hunters used to have to put into pets is simply gone.  Training new pets and getting them up to speed is merely a matter of taming, and that’s about it.  Here’s a list of the things that just went “poof.”

  • Pet training points - these are gone, so you don’t have to worry about where to place those odd points that just don’t fit.
  • Pet Loyalty - axed for WotLK.  There may eventually be some sort of system to entice hunters to keep pets, but for now, it’s the equivalent of taming a pet with “Best Friend” status.  When training points disappeared, so did the need for loyalty.
  • Pet leveling - mostly gone.  Pets will still have to level to some degree, but it will be a lot more transparent than it is now.  A level 1 beast trained by a level 80 hunter will hop to level 70 instantly.  That way the pet isn’t completely useless while you try to work on levels.  So if you missed that ghost saber at level 22, it’s not such a big deal to go back and get one for the coolness factor.
  • Nearly everything associated with training points - you will no longer have to make hard choices (since training points are no more) between things like armor or resistances.  All pets now get base levels of resistance to all 5 schools of magic as they level, although you can still choose to increase these if you like through another method.
  • Learning new pet skills - completely gone.  Never again will you have to go train Bellygrub to get Gore 4.  Instead, all pets will know 3 basic abilities (and a number of talent skills, more on those later) and those skills are set in stone.
  • Having to keep an open slot at the Stable Master - all we can say is yeehaaw to this one.  Since you don’t have to train a trash pet to learn some skill or other, you will be able to put real pets in all your slots (the beta even shows an additional slot you can buy, which means you can have 5 pets).
  • Some of your Current Pet’s skills - sorry, but if your pet knows claw and bite, they are going to lose one for the reason mentioned above.  All pets will have a set number of things they can use, and they will not get more than one “Focus Dump” skill.
  • Crummy Pets - there is simply not a single pet in the game that will get you laughed at.  Up until now, there was a set of “caster” pets that had such awful stats that training points just couldn’t make up for how bad they were.  In WotLK if you can tame it, it will make a good pet.  There are even some pets that have surprisingly useful special abilities.  I mean, who would have ever guessed that they could make a moth a decent DPS pet?

That’s a good basic look at what’s gone, now let’s look at what those have been replaced with.  Personally, I like the new system a LOT more.  Pets will now be much more like your own character, and have a special talent point screen where you can select and customize that pet to be exactly what you want it to be.  This new system also has some wicked skills that don’t even exist now.  A level 70 pet in WotLK will be much better than a level 70 pet now.

  • Three Pet “Types” - All pets are now divided into three distinct “types.” Cunning, Ferocity, and Tenacity.  These types loosely correspond to Cunning pets normally having some sort of debuff or short duration Crowd Control, Ferocity pets have DPS skills that can buff themselves or even an entire party (or raid, we’re not sure with all the raid buff tweaks yet) and Tenacity pets generally have talents that will help it to tank well.  There is a LOT of mixing and matching in the special skills, so remember that these are merely generalizations.  Each type also gets a specific modifier % to Damage Armor and Health.
  • 31 Pet “Families” - All pets are further divided into 31 family groupings that determine the 1 “Special” skill that they will use.  Some of the special skills are simply incredible.  Rhinos get a skill called Stampede that knocks all enemies within 10 yards back 15 yards!  Warp Stalkers no longer warp toward their enemy, but they will instead warp the enemy away from them up to 30 yards.
  • Pet Talent Trees - there are so many awesome tricks in the talent trees you’re just going to have to browse through them for yourself.  But basically, not only can you have a decent tanking pet, but that tank pet will can also be given talents that will help it do good damage as well.  The talent trees as a replacement for training points is an incredibly awesome change.
  • ALL pets can now get a Speed increase skill - no longer will you be stuck with a pig to get charge.  All Tenacity pets can learn charge, and the other two pet types can all learn dash or dive.

It all boils down to a few really neat points.  Training pets is easier than ever, and you have a lot more control over what your pet can do.  There are more pet choices than ever, and more skills to choose from.  It is certainly going to lead to a lot more variety in the pets running around.  You will be able to customize your pet skills in a way that suits your needs, and do so with a lot less effort than ever.

All these changes will certainly make pets for MM and SV hunters more useful, but it may be even harder to leave BM behind when you see the simply wicked awesome firepower of a BM hunter with a core hound or devilsaur exotic ferocity pet.  The 51st talent point in the BM tree gives the hunter the ability to train pets from the 6 exotic pet families and 4 extra pet skill points to put into pet DPS skills, or other tanking skills for the rhino family.

Here are some convenient links to where you can dig a little deeper into the WotLK pet info for yourself.  But I warn you: don’t look at them if it’s going to make you ruin your keyboard drooling, you still have a rather long wait!
