Wow, such anger:) I have personally leveled 3 shamans to 80 and just started 2 more just so I could try dual boxing, call me stuck on the class but they are very fun to play….

I can fully appreciate your concern and input. I had these concerns myself before I 1st started trying to multi-box. There are negatives to almost everything we do in the game. Any action we take to Dominate the game is likely ruining someone elses experience. Mastering the AH means prices typically will be higher for things, that hurts the new player that has not yet mastered the AH or may never do so.

In terms to legality there have been Blue posts about it. And currently Dual boxing is legal. One key issue is that there is a live person at the keyboard controlling the character inputs, not a bot.

While this is a nice article, nothing is said about this negatively impacts the game. It really isn’t fun nor is it fair to put in all this time in a game only to get rolled by a multi boxer in AV. I’m also fairly certain that a keyboard action clone is as illegal as using a auto clicker to bot (although difficult to prove). While I understand that the user does pay for multiple accounts and that it facilitates leveling it’s often used as a way to dominate other players. Also you don’t level 5 shammies cause you want to play 5 shammies, you do so to sell them off or cheat. This is why so many shammies are horrible players.

I have to say that I love pwnboxer for the keystroke software. It really allows you to customize how you want each copy of wow to run so you don;t need an uber computer to multibox. I ran a set of five hunters casually (in between raiding) to test out multiboxing and leveling and doing instances was a breeze! Also Jamba addon helped immensely in combination with setting a hotkey to “interact with object”. I could group, accept invites, accept quests and lot monsters with on click rather than tabbing through windows.

Found it fairly useful to experiment with the basic trial accounts and your main one. Being free its perfect for those without the extra cash for multiple full accounts, sure no BE/Draen but I can live with that
Shaman are almost always the ones used due to the insane dps that elemental specced ones can dish out, and the pile of totems (who isnt intimidated by 16-20 totems suddenly appearing and 4-5 chainlightning hurling around the place!).
One of the best setups I found was a Priest leader and clone software for the trial accounts to run 4 locks. Trying to setup healing macros was messy, so I thought I’d do that and let the keycloning do the dps. Having 9 Dots appear on the target in a second was pretty amusing, let alone 4 imp fireballs hitting at the same time, everything died! At level 10 I switched one of the imps for a voidy who took on the tank role and got healed by the priest. But gave up at lvl 20 as trial accounts are kinda limited (3 of the locks still had pretty crappy gear and you cant trade).

I dual-boxed for a while when RAF was first introduced. Refered myself and rolled a Shammy-Shammy combo, Shammy Druid (heals) and a Lock – Druid(Heals). SHam-Sham was the best for pure quick dmg. but the lock / druid combo rocked for just fast lvling. I don’t think I stopped for anything toll i was lvl 55. just happy dot hell and druid heals.
Key Bindings:
Lock / Druid
COA / Rej on lock
Corr / Moonfire lock target
Shadowbolt/ Wrath lock Target
Life Tap / Healing touch on lock,
I turned of directional key on Druid so that I could park him and round up with lock. then had a Follow lock macro set up on mount up for druid.

I purchased pwnboxer to try it out. It’s cheap and easy youse. You can easily run at least 2 wows on most machines and the guide on the pwnboxer thread on multiboxing.com tells you the best pc setup for 3+ setups

I can run 3 on my current system if I wanted but in higher population areas it does get a little laggy. But it can be functional.

Great article.. I use to use the manual window muti-box mode with 3 accounts.. and a 4th on my laptop.. not very efficient.. if i ever get the chance to do it again, i will look at the key cloners.. sounds interesting.
