A good thing to note is that if you are leveling up while herbing, you will probably come across the Herbalism Trainer at these towns: Training 1-300(requires 50, 125, 200 and level 25)
-Any Allience or Horde major city Training 300-375(requires 275 and level 40)
-Honor Hold, Hellfire (Allience)
-Thrallmar, Hellfire (Horde) Training 375-450(requires 350 and level 55)
-Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra (Allience)
-Valgarde, Howling Fjord (Allience)
-Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra (Horde)
-Vengeance Landing, Howling Fjord (Horde)
*Dalaran has a Herbalism trainer that teaches every level, 1-450
Assuming you have a flying mount, Terokkar is less frustrating than Zangarmarsh, in my opinion. Zangarmarsh spawns way too much Golden Sansam, Blindweed, and Dreamfoil to be useful for powerleveling for long.
Also, I’m not a fan of Felwood. You can’t zigzag easily because everything is closed in and hard to get to. You can be 30 yards from an herb and have to spend a full minute walking around to it. And unless you’re either very familiar with the area, you have to mouse over every dot on your minimap to make sure it isn’t one of the Corrupted plants for the cenarion salve quest, since they show up no matter how much you don’t care about them.
My favorite place to level up from about 200-300 is Hinterlands. There’s Khadgar’s Whisker in the west, but you can farm Purple Lotus almost exclusively in Jintha’Alor, and Ghost Mushrooms in Skull Rock, and Golden Sansam and Sungrass in quantity on the eastern end of the zone. You get access to some of the more valuable herbs to sell at that level, and even though Golden Sansam sucks to sell, it’ll carry you all the way to 300, and it’s everywhere. If you get bored towards 290 with everything turning grey, move on to zangarmarsh and the low level herbs there actually benefit you then, for a couple minutes.
I remember this article from last year! And I was in Myrtle Beach on vacation. *Sigh* Oh, the memories. And still very helpful info! Thanks for bringing it back Lawbringer.
