Easy WoW Gold

There is a way to make gold in WoW that is so easy you’ll never believe it. You probably don’t know it exists because you would think that anyone who would make this opportunity available just ain’t right in the head. But it happens all the time. If you’re leery about becoming an auction house guru, this is the place to start. You might catch a fever for it if you try this one small taste for a while.
I took a lot of heat last week for talking bad about Jewelcrafting and then again here. It’s like I was bad-mouthing somebody’s sister or something. I was accused of using stupid arguments and being an idiot and some other things that I’ve already blown off. But one dude apparently thought I was worthless because I banged on JC but didn’t give an alternative, therefore I suck.
I can live with that, and far be it from me to not give out a good tip. And to a degree he was right, in spite of the fact that we’ve been handing out free tips here for three years. What have you done for me lately eh? Fine. The problem is that the only reasonable way to teach people how to work the AH is to make them commit to it completely. And the only way they will even come close to committing to learning the process is to pay to learn the process.
For those of you unwilling to do so, we feed you the best we can. The system is incredibly complex, but we’ve boiled it down to a few clicks here and a few clicks there. It couldn’t be any easier, but you do have to read through all 130+ pages and work at it pretty good every day for a month to get it down. It’s not for everybody, but everybody who does it our way makes more gold faster than anything else they’ve ever done before.
We used to be a little secretive about our methods, but we’ve figured out that even AH pros don’t do everything we do. The guy who isn’t even close to ruling the AH isn’t going to figure out the whole system from a tip here and there straight from the guide. It’s a system that took us over two years of research to develop and over 130 pages to explain.
So here is one of our favorite steps – it’s the very first thing we do every single day. We never EVER skip this one. It won’t make you a ton of gold, but it’s the safest investment you can possibly make. as a matter of fact – it’s the only market play we will ever recommend that has absolutely ZERO risk involved. You CANNOT lose gold on this one.
You’ll need AADV (Auctioneer Advanced) and it doesn’t hurt to have Lil’Sparky’s and ATSW (Advanced Trade Skill Windows), but they are not necessary for this step. But you can’t do without AADV. It’s the back bone of everything we do. Without it you can’t do this at all, there is no way. With it, the whole world becomes a veritable tree from which to pick glorious bunches of golden fruit.
Yeah it’s cheesy as hell, but it’s the truth. You can run around farming all you want, I’ll do my 15 minutes at the AH and make the same amount of gold (or more than likely a LOT more) thank you very much. Anyway, load up AADV, fire up the game and then run straight to the AH.
The next cool thing about this tip is that you can do it while you build your database. Normally we recommend people do nothing at all with AADV for a week or two except scan. This is the only exception. You can start doing this day one.
Open up the auction window at your favorite auction house and the hit the little Fastforward button (yellow circle) at the top of the AADV window and tell it you don’t care if it boots you off. If you’re on a slow connection you might never get the fast scan to work, if that’s the case just hit the regular play button (red circle) and go grab a drink or something.
Once you’re done with that just right click (that’s RIGHT CLICK) the little magnifying glass (green arrow) to open up the window where we basically print money all day long. Click on Searchers (red arrow) and then select Vendor (yellow arrow) from the list. Set your vendor Minimum profit to 10s and the minimum discount to .5% (that’s point 5 percent, NOT five percent).
Leave Allow Bids and Allow Buyouts checked and then just hit Search near the bottom left. Your screen will fill up with possibly the most amazing opportunity to make crazy gold off of folks just not using their heads you’ve ever seen. There is simply no duplication for this is real life. If there was I wouldn’t be writing articles about WoW let me assure you.
The things you see in the list below are items that people have listed on the Auction House for sale BELOW their vendor value. Catch that? It means you can buy them from the AH, turn around and sell them to a Vendor nearby for a profit. How silly easy is that? All we have to do to bid or buyout every single one of these items is hold down Ctrl+Shift+Alt and hit the “Purchase ALL” button. In this case we spent 20g, 92s, 62c on 18 items with a vendor value of 28g, 47s, 49c. And yes, you have to spam click the “Yes” button on each one, there is no way around it without botting and getting banned.
It only takes about 2 min to scan the AH, another 12 seconds to scan for vendor, a minute or so to hit Yes a few dozen times and then you can go back to doing dailies or mining or whatever else you’re going to do today. But I just made about 8 gold in 4 minutes. And I was writing this article as I did it. Now I can log out and go back to work on the podcast and the Alliance leveling guide.
The above example is on a very low pop server. On high pop realms there may be hundreds of items for vendor. I consistently make over 50 gold a day on one of my bankers from this little trick alone. For the AH nub or new toon on a new server this is the easiest way to turn 10 gold into 100 gold in a week we’ve ever found.
And because you are bidding or buying these items below vendor cost, you simply cannot lose a single copper in the process. If someone outbids you above vendor price you just get your investment back and no harm done. If you buyout the item you can get your gold back plus a bit from a vendor in about 20 seconds. It’s simply amazing how much gold you can actually make from this.
I find that on average I make a good 100-200 gold a week on every banker I have that does this several times a day. That’s like doing an extra 5-10 dailies every week, or mining for an hour or two. Plus I probably only spent about 20 minutes total on the whole deal which means that gold per hour spent earning it is still way higher than anything else I might be doing.
Now, buying for vendor is only one tiny part of our complete system. But if I told you that there were dozens of ways and thousands of items that could turn you profits just like this for such a teeny tiny bit of time would you want to know how we do it?
That’s the perspective I’m coming from when I say farming is schlub work. That’s what I mean when I say JC is a little too much on the work side. If I can make a couple hundred gold here for 10 minutes worth of clicking, and a couple hundred there and a couple thousand over there and . . . .why would I spend time buying, prospecting, selling, making, de’ing and reselling THOSE mats when I can do the same things and make even MORE gold by just flipping all that around just a little bit.
I buy ore all the time, but I never prospect it for gems. if I get it at a low price my best gold per hour spent is to merely resell it at the right price. If I want more enchanting mats to seel or more things to DE I don’t go make them I buy the greens. I don’t ever sell gems because they deposit costs hurt my feelings – there are simply too many other things that have very low or no deposit costs out there to make it worth taking a 15% profit margin for an hour of my time when I can do a dozen other things that will get me a 25% or higher margin for 15 minutes of my time.
Normally the profession that’s best for crafting to DE is Tailoring (yes, I will explain why next week). The profession that makes the most consistent high profits (for actually making things to sell) is Alchemy, the profession that means the most work for the lowest return is normally Leatherworking, but those are just averages and your server may be different. But no matter what server I’m on I can earn thousands of gold every week with only one profession using the techniques we’ve honed until a toad could use it – and JC isn’t in it. Matter of fact, I don’t even have a JC on any realm (although I will soon have several of them, but not to make gold – for the tasty +a ton to stat X
).
You can learn everything we do in the Auction House Mastery Guide. But at least this way you can see what we mean by free money. People are just giving it away basically. And you don’t even have to work for it. All you do is clicky-clicky, and it rolls in. Try this one out for a while and see. It won’t waste more than a few minutes of your time and just might convince you that there really IS a much more Dominating way to make gold in World of Warcraft.

It is NOT risk-free, because there are several items in the auctioneer database with incorrect vendor prices.
And on my server there are a lot of people doing this, so the most I get is a few items that will net me a few silver – not worth my time.
It’s as risk free as investing gets. I’m not sure how the vendor price can be off – that’s not been my experience.
As for risk – how much more risk free can it get? Let’s say it’s 90% risk free, that’s still unbelievable.
Also, we’ve said that each server has it’s own flavor. But I still am not going to leave even 5 gold a week on the table if I’m doing the scans anyway. It’s just one of the many things we do when we visit the AH. They all add up and some tools work better on one server than they do on another.
You might also try varying when you do this scan. If there are other AADV people running scans on your server, try to find a time when they haven’t been on in a while and won’t be on in a while. Since I’ve got about 5 or 6 guys in my own guild running the DYS system, the competition is fierce. The strange thing is that we’re all making more gold than on the Ally side of the server where the market is bigger and probably not as many folks are doing it this way.
But since my pals are doing weekend sales and mid week purchases, I’ve settled into the less prime time spots and still come across a few dozen vendor items every time I scan, but I do it first thing in the morning while everyone else is at work. It only takes a few minutes to pop in, scan and do a couple of purchasing runs. I get everything the late-nighters post at 3am, and get it before the other pros get on at 5pm.
In other words, work on your time slots as well. You may find that Monday and Tuesday morning are good times for junk, or it may be Friday at midnight.
Today I tried this on a new tune with 20 gold. Figured it would be nice to try. I use your AH guide all the time but never tried this before. Anyways mine really screwed up. Dont know why. Had me buy two feasts for 8 gold each. wasnt thinking about what I was buying just bought it and took it to the vendor. Well the vendor only wanted to pay me 2 gold each. WTF?? So i went back my so called profit and bought a Saronite bomb, for 3 gold 75 silver. Said it would give me a 50 silver profit… Well the vendor had another idea. He would only pay me 50 or 60 silver…I forget which. Anyways now i’m a litte afraid to try this again after losing all his start up. I deleted Auctioneer and downloaded the newest one…maybe that will make it work…but damn… I just bought everything like you said to do and got destroyed. Not your fault tho, it was Auctioneers fault.
I think that happened to me once late night. I think you forgot to click “buy out only” buton. AADV sometimes will show the profit you will make if you win at the current bid price not the buy out price.
I’ve used Tailoring for various enchanting mats, but Inf dust I’ve been getting from skinning/LW; when I’m out there killing the mobs anyway, or finding dead corpses strewn about the landscape to skin — I don’t buy them. I prefer to convert the leather to dust rather than AH’ing them… the resulting dust is a better value, AND no listing fees vs moderately steep ones. (Though it mostly gets fed to my Tailor instead of being sold, depending on AH prices and my personal supply.)
Thanks for the “real” gold making tip.
I know you guys have been doing this for 3 years I’ve been here from (almost) jump. Thanks again for the tip from the guide and will start using starting NOW!
BTW my auc. advance button on vendor items will not let me display a .5% It goes from 0.0% right to 1%.
Same
0.0 to 1.0%… First .5 comes at 3.5%
omg genioius lol i was unawares that u could use aaadv for that very purpose.. i did a little of it a while ago but i never realised you could get it to do the scan haha that is epic lol…. will be trying that shortly… I’m gonna reroll on anew realm soon and im looking for sum nice easy leveling money making stuff… such as 20g into 30g etc.. This stuff is bonus ^^
I brlieve ratherthan scrolling from one to the next, u have to click and type, kind of like changing to a .5 text size
Great tip, hopefully not TOO many people from my server will read this : )
I have been doing this for a While now. Bummer the cat’s out of the bag… =(
I find Great feasts all the time cause people make them for leveling cooking, and i always make money on them in the vendor search. On Average, i can make 20 to 30 gold a day Just doign this search 1 or 2 times a day. It’s not much, but its free, and over a month, it’s 600g. Free. totally.
You guys keep rocking, and Gav – that JC guy was a Tool…
You bastard!!! I bought your guide 2 weeks ago and immediately started doing the vendor game. It just seemed obvious that I could do that while I built up my database. Now I’m going to have competition!!!
Awesome guide, BTW.
same problem as Cooter, whether it has a massively detrimental affect or not is the question
Same as Cooter and the guy who quoted Cooter, im still testing this trick out myself to see whether or not it can make me a decent profit.
1% is fine if it’s as low as you can get. Unlike Entropy, I don’t care if it’s a few cents – it’s still like finding it lying around on the ground. The only thing easier would be to have the folks just mail it to me anyway.
We found this little gem just before BottomScanner went kaput. SearchUI was something everyone hated, because it’s so different than the old way. But I was thrilled to see vendor as it’s own little niche in AADV.
On one server I was amazed at how many gems (cough) were being sold at the AH every single day for under vendor. And since nobody wanted them, I won almost all of them. I even had a couple of folks mail me and ask if I wanted all they had so they wouldn’t have to post them on the ah as I was the only one buying them. Talk about roflmao.
We agreed on a standard price that netted me about 25s each and they would send them to me in bundles.
Moral of the story is don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. It’s just a little thing, and it won’t buy your epic flyer, but it might nab you enough for a few repairs here and there. With a repair bill for 213+ level gear sets inching closer and closer to 100g, every little bit counts.
(Remember when we used to gripe about a 15g repair?
)
loved it! btw- ur guidies are actually on my Christmas list
i have a question for you experts
I fish a lot…some for the feasts, but mostly for that illusive turtle i hear can be found in northrend. I think ive caught something like 5000 fish so far since 3.1. Needless to say i catch a lot of suckerfish, and i usually mail em to my alchemist to convert to oil and then to Guru’s elixers. Now a 48 hour deposit on those is 6g…do you think i would be better off making the elixers i want for myself and then vendoring the oil before making the potion, or is there a better way? The potions dont always sell, and they’re selling at about cost anyway.
Your advice please.
I do a fair bit of fishing myself; personally, I like AH’ing fish. It’s a nice, fairly steady –if not large — income. I’ve had many stacks of Guru’s Elixir made, and I can sell some in trade COD — not everyone wants to leave Dalaran to check the AH, so you can even sell a bit higher. They’re also nice to have on hand for instances. But after you have some on hand… I’m probably going to start vendoring the pygmy oil. I actually just bid on a few stacks of Pygmy Oil well below vendor, so there’s no point in trying to move THOSE…
Make the elixirs you want for yourself, plus some extra. When you are working the AH, advertise in trade to sell. Vendor the extra oils. That’s my advice, if someone has a better idea I could use one myself!
i did everything you said to do and its not working
i scan then open the vendor thing and make the minimum profit and minimum discount and it scans but opens up a blank.. ive tried this on 2 realms and same thing happened both times
You could drink the Pygmy oil for the “little” change. That’s what I’ve been doing for fun. Get a stack of 8-10 on your character and look out. Just drink one before the timer runs out and it refreshes the stack. Have fun, start a trend and everyone will be doing it.
“A New Realm….”
New server…? Like Blizzard opening a new server, or you guys transferring/starting on a new one?
I may as well wade into the seemingly continuing JC war. Now you can make gold from purely JC, i know this as i have done it…sometimes still do it…and have retested it since. BUT, it’s high risk, I’ve had losses as well and miserable profit returns. Last run i did, bought out stacks of Saronite 15g each…prospected them all……made a miserable 32g on the whole lot, spent 210 btw so small tester as it were. As i said tis is a high risk profit making method, u CAN, and i have had big returns, but ur releying on luck not skill to achieve this. As in the my test case there i got 2 Scarlet Rubys in the mix which provided the bulk of my return, proced one more and wham profit margin skyrockets, and of course proc one less and filing for bankruptcy. So by all mean use this method if you fel like it, but you’ll be playing the high risk game, i still do as its easy and require absolutly No thought, other than setting ur max buyout price for Ore.
As for this article…..nice!…trying it now as i write this…stupidily easy way to make gold..ty for that.
I got the AH guide a long time ago, but i was never able to get the… i forget the name of the specific mod/option (the one that auto posts your stuff) to work correctly, it would always set the prices so high, it would always be one of the highly priced auctions, and the stuff never sold. i am tired of pricing every item myself, it just takes too long. how can i fix it so it sets the prices not so high? ( i know this is kinda unrelated to the specific thing discussed, but still, Awesome thing by the way i been doing that for a while now, it makes me just enough gold in a week to pay for repairs from raids and such.
Is the fast scan the same as the normal speed? I always worried that it might not get as much data or something, but then again one would think AH scanning should be relatively fast. You say you never use the slow scan?
Law?
Yes, Law some of the AADV vendor prices are wrong.
I recently blew several hundred gold buying out a dozen or so stacks of great feasts that were 2g below vendor price (18g and AADV seemed to think great feasts vendored for 1g apiece – 20g a stack).
Luckily I noticed and managed to buy them back when I found the vendor was only offering 5g A STACK. I paid 18g for those stacks because Auctioneer told me to.
Now I’m trickling them back on to the market for a (very) minor profit.
Here’s my question that you might want to address in a future article for those who have been using your AHMG. How can I turn a profit on this disenchanting racket when everybody else is doing the same thing?
I’ve been scanning the auction house religiously every day for the last 3 months and sometimes 2 or 3 times. Yet the moment the scan finishes I jump straight into appraiser and search for greens to disenchant. Nearly every time I am faced with less than 5 items to buyout and a few dozen recommended for bidding on.
On a VERY good day I might be able to buy out a dozen. I throw bids down on EVERYTHING that it asks for (at 25% min discount) and out of those 50-80 bids…I might win 3 or 4. Everything else comes back as being outbid.
And this is on an auction house that averages 450-550 pages.
In the resale window I’m flooded with things that auctioneer swears I’ll make a bundle of profit on…yet when I go to the main window and manually search that item I find they’re nearly all at that low price. But appraiser only show up one or two stacks.
My settings appear to be accurate to your ebook but I’m not seeing the fortune making items anywhere. I sink a lot of gold into these bids and turn a very low profit margin. (less than 10%)
Logically your system makes a lot of sense but tell me what i’m doing wrong!
Long time reader, love your work.

I have your book too, nice strateies etc. but I have yet to see much success with it. Starting to wonder if something is wrong with my AADV actually. Case in point I have tried to look for vendor stuff for last 2 weeks, have yet to have a SINGLE item com up on a scan. I even set the vendor info down to 1c, yes 1C profit and 0%discount and nothing appears? I find it extremely hard to believe there is nothing. Our Server (Medivh) is a very active server with a strong econ, but I am getting nothing on scans.
all i have to say is tailor/enchanter ftw.. cloth drops from so many mobs in the game its laughable.. and as a tailor i get more cloth then i can deal with.. easyily solved.. make a few greens/blues.. DE them.. and BOOM.. free money.. all i gotta do is pop them on the AH and even if they dont sell imediately it dont matter… cos theres no AH listing price for enchanting mats.. its literally that simple.. money is an easy thing to get in wow.. if u just use ur brains..
Figured out the issue. Informant was not loading up. reinstalled it, and it loaded, VIOLA Vendor items and pricing!
want a real trick?
clam meat (YES the BASIC clam meat) sell em for around 5-11g a stack on a random server and buy out all your competition, makes me around 1000g a DAY. for 20 mins work
thats making money
I’m usually a bit of a skeptic about gold guides etc, but after about 2 months of awesome WoW tips via email from these guys I went out on a limb and got it. This is just one of the many ways outlined in the guide which these guys have now given you for FREE!! On lazy days when I can only be bothered running the vendor and DE search with the gold guide settings I still make clear of 500g on a mediocre AH pop server. Best part is it takes 15 mins max and then do whatever you want in game or off while the gold rolls into your mailbox.
BTW I’m pretty sure MB has always said that the only way to always make money from JC is to FARM THE MATS YOURSELF. Even then the only things that consistantly sell well are uncut gems. I have a maxed JC myself (purely to buff the toon and cut stuff for guildies) and what these guys say is 100% right. Uncut gem prices fluctuate so often and the outcome of prospecting is so hit and miss that unless you’re willing to spend a few hours a day farming mats yourself theres no way to consistantly make gold from it. I tried that for a few months then got sick of it. Personally I prefer to spend my time killing raid bosses for EPIX than mining hehe.
I have been using this method and have made nearly 100 gold in a few days. I have not run dailies in a few weeks and my Banker is almost broke as well (leveling a new Shammy and wanted him geared well and spent all my money LOL). Started this and in about 4 days gained 100 + gold on my server went from 434 gold to about 560 gold. I have not had any problem with the vendor pricing issue, however I will wartch for great feast and check those before buying them.
Quick question can you guys a good write up on Shammies This is my first one and finding a good write is nerve racking lol. Ihave dual sepcs Enhancement for leveling and Resto. I am resto on all dungeon runs.
cant get the profit thing to go to .5%. any tips?
I cant figure out whats fubar about this method. really seems simple.I read your tip went and tried it out right away. Virtually everything I went happily clicking on to buy turned out to be well more then vendor price. So I thought oh well,Ill just relist them. Well after AH fees, Im for sure goona take a big hit on this one. There was one item that must be a twink item or something list well below market that might save my arse. Not sure yet.
I have used ah for a long time and like the info in the pop up window to decide whats worth what when Im doing this or that. But with the fluctuations in price in AH prices from day to day. Hell hour to hour I’ll have to be more careful in the future.
On my Auctioner I just hold down control alt delet and it changes the purchase button to say purchase all. Donwmloaded this AADV 3 weeks ago on a new (well newlly rebuilt computer). Starting over with my database really sucks.
crap not right buttons. hold down control, alt, and shift not dure what I was talking about up there LOL.
Ok, I looked at some auctions that the setup describes and I think I figured it out. If don’t have bids unchecked. it will show all items with bid being lower then the Buyout . So you have to look close at the items before you buy. unless it’s simply a bid only. bid only is going to be good if you win it But if the person, put / left, the bid low and set the BO high. then it will show a profit on the bid . But if u use buyout it could be well higher then the bid price that brought it up in the search in the first place
Anyway thats what I have figured out so far. So I scan first with the bid unchecked and I feel like a bit of digging Ill check the bid box and search through the stuff
It’s late, I hope that makes sense.
I do not have to check or uncheck anything. Mine scans and pulls up a list and it reccomends to either buy it or bid it. The profit is based on which ever stat it suggests you do, then I hit purchase all and does it according to its suggestion. What I mean ios if the item says bid it bids automatically and if it say buyout it buys it out automatically. I have yet to buy anything with this process that I have lost money on. For me up until this point it has been absoluetely flawless. 100% risk free for me on my server and my AADV. I have no idea what setting in mine makes it work correctly but it does and so far 100% of the time.
i am curious if anyone else has had the same problem as i have or if there is a way to fix it, the problem i am running into is when i do the scan everything comes up just fine however after i click purchase all all it does is q up the auctions it doesnt actually grab em. am i doing something wrong missing a step or what anyone have any ideas? please help!!!!
I think I’m doing something wrong.. I download the file but when I go to play WOW it’s not there. It’s a zip file for everyone, right? I download the files and then extract them… am I missing something?
