Grammar is fairly subjective in all reality and for the most part four different English professors will grade the same paper four different ways. So when I went back I counted two letters out of place and a couple of sentence fragments. The misspelled word hardly counts. Transposition errors are actually misused words and happen all the time.

So I replaced two periods with semicolons and swapped two letters. I can live with that in a 900 word post. I’m am truly sorry that it offends you, but it’s probably not ever going to be perfect. Not even the NY Times ever is.

This is why I actually hated English until I took a course called Transformational Grammar my Senior year of college. It turns out that punctuation conventions are just as arbitrary for the most part as any other part of the ever-changing landscape of any language. All languages except the dead ones, that is.

The true purpose of the written word is to effectively convey thoughts or emotions. While I agree that a certain level of standardization is necessary, not everyone sees things the same way. I have my own pet peeves with our writers. Most folks pepper commas in there like raindrops; but I am NOT in the business of editing to perfection.

We ARE in the business of teaching people how to play a game better. We use jargon and lingo and abbreviations and all sorts of crap that is thoroughly outside of traditionally accepted writing technique on a constant basis. It’s not good form, but it IS good communication.

So you’re going to have to live with it to some degree. A search for perfection or a demand for it is just going to disappoint. Sorry that I’m a part of that but I am certainly not going to lose a second of sleep over it. It takes long enough to get it as right as it is. I’m not taking the extra 30 minutes to try to catch every teeny tiny thing. There are more important things in life, and there are raids to do.

I would be happy to let you edit the posts for me before I post them if it’s that important to you. You would be the first to see them AND when they hit the page they would be perfect in your eyes.

It’s a small thing, I know, but it distracts me from the content when I read ‘except’ and have to back-track and figure out you mean ‘expect’ because the sentence makes no sense. That’s just one example, I found about six in there.

Just saying..

Apart from that, I have been doing this kind of time management for a long time already, but every now and then I have to change it up a little so I don’t feel like I’m stuck in a rut. I’ll go do a few BG’s or boost a friend’s alt or something.

Once I hit about 140k gold and ran out of stuff to spend it on, I started slacking off

So sit on them for another year. They are NEVER coming back. Eventually someone will buy them for a fortune. Will it actually hurt you to wait for prices to rise or did you just want to try to make it seem like we did something bad to you?

Take our advice at your own risk. Most of the time you will do extremely well with it. Sometimes you won’t, that’s the nature of everything in life. If you were counting on a single item to buy your epic flyer and dual specs at a definite set time point such as 6 months and didn’t take any other steps to make a dime doing anything else there is no way I can help you at all ever.

If you had been doing everything else we mentioned along the way you would have won a lot more than you would have lost if you did it smart, and it wouldn’t bother you a bit to have the momentos lying around waiting for a rainy day.

I wish I had 6 mementos lying around to just sit on for another year. Lucky you. I may make a toon on your server just to buy them from you and transfer them back to my server to sit for as long as it takes. Eventually I would make a fortune off of them.

From my perspective each run is it’s own deal, especially in a pug. No one is obligated past the run they are in. So if in an hour you only get in one or two runs because of poor execution, you certainly are not obligated to keep going past your own time constraints.

Now, the exception is that if you find a good group that is knocking out instances like target dummies you might just stick it for longer than you normally would since those situations are a little hard to come by even in guilds.
