Comments on: Blood Spec Death Knight Build

I am currently blood specced (always have been btw) fully epic geared (T9) (enchanted / gemmed*) but i can’t seem to get my dps any higher then about 5k~ish on trash it’s usually around 2.5 to 4k, on bosses my peaks are 6K dps, is there any way i could increase that with the current gear i have? http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Stormrage&cn=Thoraxaroth (the blue ring equiped is currently changed into an epic one)

I have tried a couple of different trees now (all blood spec) and am currently doing 3.5k dps on trash and about 5K on bosses, instead of stacking strength with gems i stacked ArP because i heard that was a better thing 2 do. now my question is, with fully enchanted T9 gear, would i do more dmg if i would stack strength or would it remain the same? the best rotation i found is I.T., P.S., H.S X2, D.S. then i add a death coil by the time the gcd is over i can do another D.S. and then i just spam H.S till diseases are over. After that i just repeat it. is there any other better rotation 2 use? any help would be much appreciated (am looking help from dk’s that have the same gear, same spec but do way more dps then i do) Cheers m8s

I like my blood spec. I get great boss dps and pretty good mob dps in. I find that i need at least 10 secs to start getting up there, so if you plan to die I wouldn’t advise my tree. If you want to know how i spec’d, my toon is Uskecyh on Kirin Tor. Reply to my comment if you cant figure out my boss and mob rotations. Just my two cents, blood is by far my fav

Not a bad build, but one of my favorite parts of blood is replacing blood strike with heart strike. I personally prefer .Link text. I like how it’s a blood build, but you still get to have a permanent ghoul. This build also mainly focuses on Heart Strike, Death Strike and Death Coil. My rotation, in fact, is just that. 2 HS, 2 DS, 2DC, repeat. It works like a charm. Most people would think that the diseases are really important, but with the runes that you need to cause and maintain diseases, you could be putting in another more damaging attack.

it is a pretty good build, but I use a slightly different build. I have this thing about dps not being any good dead so I have a spec that is still pretty high dps (2500+-3k+) dps in raids and offers really great survivability. The added bonus is that you have 2 ep you can put either into defense or more dps.

There is also a variation that I use where I don’t put any into unholy at all. Instead I put it 1 into lichborne and one back into sudden doom.

Forgive the language, but I call that my apeshit built. Vampiric Blood, Lichborne, Icebound Fortitude and Hysteria don’t share a cd. I macro’d all 4 to proc at the same time and for 20 seconds every 2 mins my dk has more hp, more hp regen, more damage, and is immune to stun, charm, fear, and sleep effects.

Throw in anti-magic shell for the spell immunity and what you get is a literally unstoppable beast of a machine which have time and time again stopped a party wipe and has allowed my dk to solo even the meanest elite ouside of heroics and raids, (all but 3 elites in sholozar basin).

Of course the build is heavily reliant on gear. Toughness and Bladed Armor has proven to be a very strong damage combination. That build also allows you to tank and dps without having to respec. I just change sets and go (watch your repairs before you go swapping in runs).

3.1 is coming out soon and that build is going to be even stronger as poisons are going to take a front line in dealing damage for the DK.

I tried unholy and blood for leveling, and i have to say that i prefer unholy. I am just lvl 70 and i do like 200 more mean dps with unholy and it has better survailability (i can handle packs of 3 without hesitation, not that good with blood, the pet helps a lot).

Try both if you want, but i think unholy is the best for leveling.

I am an unholy dk 17/0/54 and I am doing over 4.5k average dps in 25 naxx. There are also 2 other dk’s, same exact build, doing the same. Do you have any suggestions for a great single target dps spec? I am wanting to use my dual specs in 3.1 as a.) an unholy aoe dps build and b.) a good single target dps build. I wanted to have them both to be able to maximize my raid dps, however not too sure of a great single target spec. Any ideas?

Who ever said frost is a waste doesn’t play wow, second of all Blood is a great spec for leveling and PVE/Raid DPS. I have a level 80 Paladin and I have raided all of the raids possible, and i can say that as for the Blood DK’s in my guild do great dps over 3k, and as for Tanking, Frost DK’s are probably the best in the guild.

As a currently geared, and have downed every raid known to blizz, i find Rune Tap to be very useful, even if i was MT or OT, it helps when tanking and healing both get hairy. One talent an OT should have though, for sure is Mark of Blood this is highly affective, but should not be specced for by a MT unless he has a few extra points to spare. Two other skills i believe are a must have are Blade Barrier and Anticipation, i mean really look at those skills…. if you are a “tank” and dont have that….please….play everquest
