Easy Gold At Level 70
Posted on June 7th, 2008 by Nameless Demon Hunter under Gold Building, Gold Farming(Now for our third place winner - Nameless Demon Hunter. He’s a rogue expert and did a really nice piece of machinima about the grind for the winterspring frostsaber mount. You will be able to read his work a couple of times each week from now on!)
Everyone is out there trying to find the best and most effective way to earn gold. There are epic mounts to be bought, materials for those l33t weapons to make, and even more just to spend it on leisure stuff from the AH (we have to tweak out those alts after all).
Well, I’m here to give you the straight forward answer on how to earn your cash the fastest way once you hit level 70: take your character to 70 and do two things;
1. Dailies
2. Quests that have not been completed
As for the Don’t dos:
1. DO NOT go around in SW begging all the other 70s for loose change!
This sounds so basic and ingenious, could it actually work? Not only does it work, it’s one of the fastest and most consistent ways. There are other gold making tips for working your way up to 70, because you will need it for earning your epic land mount. There are also people like Lawbringer who do nothing but work the ah. But this guide is for making serious gold doing dailies and quests so you can proceed toward buying your epic flyer as well as making life easy for your alts.
Since patch 2.4, blizzard upped the daily quest limit to 25. They did this because of all the new Sunwell Isle quests that came into play. Players can now earn an easy 100g in less then an hour.
So where to start? If you are a fresh level 70 with only a land mount, start doing the dailies at the isle. The purpose of doing this is not only for the gold, but for the reputation. The SSO faction has some powerful rewards to offer, especially if you are a gem cutter. Aside from the awesome recipes, there are rare and epic items for everyone to use.
Spend an hour and do all the SSO (Shattered Sun Offense) dailies. For the most part, every server should have at least the armory opened by now; which means more quests to do and more gold and reputation to be earned. If you have a friend to help don’t hesitate, the repetitiveness can become quite boring and you will be doing this for the next 1-2 months. But of course, what is Warcraft with out some kind of a grind?
Now you have done all the SSO quests, what do you do next? If you have a regular flying mount, do the Outland daily quests. There are some in Shattrath city and then 2 in hellfire peninsula that you especially want to focus on.
The importance of these quests is that they offer a SSO package and you do not want to pass this up. The reason being, there is a chance that a badge of justice will drop. It is the only way to earn badges in the game besides running heroic and raids.
There are other sets of dailies you should concern yourself with. They are the Skettis, Netherwing, and Ogri’la dailies. You will need a flying mount to access all 3 sets, so do not bother with these until you have one.
The Skettis dailies will provide you with reputation for the Sha’tari Skygaurd, to buy the nether ray mount. The Netherwing quests are for the same cause, an epic Netherwing mount.
The Ogri’la dailies have a lot more to offer. You can hit 3 birds with one stone doing these quests. First, the faction rewards from Ogri’la are somewhat decent depending on your class/spec. Second, it is a very good way to earn quick gold. And third, you are grinding two factions at the price of one. That’s right; you are getting both Ogri’la and Sha’tari Skygaurd reputation.
The last way, notably the most important, is to do regular quests at 70. Once you max your level, quests will yield gold instead of experience. The amount of gold will range from12-26, an average of 16g per quest. Not to mention the item rewards you will vendor off.
The importance of doing regular quests, I can not stress enough, is the reputation you will be earning along side with all that gold. Doing all the basic quests in outland will get you between honored and revered with almost all factions. This is so important when you start reaching end game material, you will want to be exalted with all factions.
Just a re-cap:
- When you hit 70, do the daily quests along with reputation grinds. This is a constant 100-200g per day in a short period of time.
- Do regular quests, you can literally earn 1k gold in 3 hours from grinding regular quests and quest chains. This will also help you gain reputation with the major factions necessary for end game.
- Always sell good material that is dropped on the AH. Look up your item and do some research for the best profit (an obvious tip).
I followed these 3 simple steps and went from having 200g to 7,000g in less then two months. I purchased artisan riding along with a Cenarion War Hippogryph mount (costs 1600g and you never see anyone riding it). Now I have money to spare for all my alts and buy whatever I need.
The best part of it for me, I never had to farm mats/items and I spent barely any time at the AH. It is hard earned gold, but in a very quick and non irritating matter for me, especially since you are gaining other rewards in the process.

fact not mentioned is that netherwing quests require epic flying for most of the quests
The promblem that most people have is not that they do not know this onformation, we all do, dailies and primals, its that people want to make 400000000 gold in one day. That is just not possible, consistancy is a key factor in which will allow them to achieve the Flying Epic mount. I got mine before 2.4 with all the easy mode dailies, through months of scryer rep farming and my 4 or 5 dailies. Consistancy is key to gettng the Flying epic mount.
The thing is that i am to lazy to do dailies. I am a druid so can i jump right into outland dailies.
They nerfed one of the Shatt city quests, the one that takes you to Negrand no longer gives SSO Supplies, very dissapointing.
Hey guys new here just thought id add on to what was said by nameless demon hunter. I personally with the introduction of the shattered sun daily’s think it is an absolute doddle to get the epic flying. I got mine in 2 weeks and im a 15 yr old kid so if i can do it im sure all you “adults” can.
Bascially all i did was base my work around doing all of the available dailys. I would recommend being a miner as it generates so much money with the ease of getting adamantite ore and selling it for a handsome profit on the AH.
Right anyway i would start off in Shattrath and make sure i had the “gaining the advantage” quest. This is a very easy 16g that you can make whilst farming for more gold. I would get that quest make and make my way to the isle of quel danas. I would do all those quests and make a nice 100g.
But if you do have mining you should need to be aware of some mining spots. These spots appear very frequently and have an awesome respawn rate. Whilst doing all the dailys though you should be treated to a variety of different goods that people would too easily vendor. Arcane tomes dropped once or twice for me, a nice 10g for one of those. Also sunfury signets. Now i know with the introduction to the isle etc that sunfury signets have severely plummetd in price and people put them on almost for copper, but if u save a high amount instead of just vendoring them you can make a nice bit of gold off them.
Marks of sargeras also work the same way except you can make a very sexy amount off them. Also mana motes can drop frequently off of the sentry’s which u can collect and make about another 15g. When you leave to come off the island you should have about 30g at least worth of AH stuff with mining and the “gaining the advantage” quest done, if not don’t worry you can still get it easy enough as you head off to do the other dailys acrosss Outland.
Next i would pick up all of the quests availabe in shattrath and head off to do the sunfury attack plans quest in netherstorm. This quest can be nice and easy or a pain sometimes depending on the drop rate. But you also again might be treat to more AH items such as arcane tomes.
After i have completed this quest i head over to blades edge to do “smuggled mana cells”, this one again is quite easy but you also get a decent drop rate for mote of mana’s off the mana wraiths. Once completed i head over to ogirla to do the 4 dailys there. There’s nothing special here but a nice easy 40g and a bit of rep with shatari skyguard and ogri’la.
Following on from that i would head over to hellfire and make my way to do the 2 dailys there (presuming you have alreay done the prequest at iqd). These are two nice and easy quests but also a lovely drop rate for motes of fire. Which you can sell at the AH for approximately 30g. Then i would make my way just north and do the razorthorn root daily which is just plainly another 10g.
Next would be nagrand. This is my favourite daily as its 10g for walking about 100 yards. I would then make my way back to shattrath to hand in the quests that i took earlier to relieve a bit of bag space. Then i would go to shadowmoon and do the Atal’mal armaments quest which is a nice easy 17g. Then i would head to skettis and do the last 2 of my dailys there. Which has some nice mining spots there too.
I would head back to shattrath and go to ironforge (undercity if you are horde). There i would vendor all my trash and put all of the farmed items on the AH. I would finally head back to iqd and hand in the 2 quests there and log out waiting for the next days dailys.
ALso one important factor of making gold this way is consistency. Soo many times i have heard of people saying they cant make much gold quick enough yet they only do the dailys 3-4 times a week. Try doing them all days a week. You will nearly accumulate twice as much gold weekly by doing them this frequently. It only took me 2 weeks of doing this before i was flying around on my blue riding ray.
If you need any spots for mining plz ask and i will do a phew screen dumps with the spots highlighted for you.
Nathanhomer.
Just saying, thanks Nathanhomer for the detailed quest run for dailies, I will be following this and hopefully in the forseeable future I shall be cruising on my new Epic Flying Mount
