Throat Piercers

How would you like to spend under 6 silver, and make 15, 25, even 50 gold within a few hours later?
If you’ve been getting my email alerts for any length of time, you already know that I love selling things to twinks. Twinks go ga-ga over every last possible point of agility or intellect, and invest tons of gold into their twink characters.
Well, what we have here is the only +agility bow/gun/thrown weapon that a twink 19 rogue can get. Everyone who’s building a 19 twink rogue will simply have to have it, and will be willing to pay lots of gold for those two little points of agility.
There are a number of factors that make this item so special.
- These are only available from a single vendor, who is only friendly to Horde (sorry Alliance guys!)
- They only spawn in the vendor’s inventory occasionally… perhaps once per day
- Another item (nice, but less desirable) frequently spawns in its place
The vendor is question is Eralan, the poison vendor in Tranquillien (in the Ghostlands.) Based on our tests (this is not definitive), it looks like Eralan spawns a special item for sale about every 4 hours. 75% of the time, that special item will be the Sinister Scimitar. The other 25% of the time, she will spawn Throat Piercers.
If she spawns a Sinister Scimitar, then someone will have to buy it. Once it’s been bought, she should spawn a new special item for sale within 4 hours.
As you can see from the auction house info from Allakhazam.com, the average selling price across all servers is over 33 gold, with a median and most frequent selling price of 20 gold.
Make yourself a Blood Elf alt toon, and run him to Tranquillien. Make a habit of logging in and checking Eralan for this item as often as possible, and whenever you find it, email it to your bank alt, and make yourself some easy gold.
And don’t disregard the Sinister Scimitar. It’s not half bad, and still can fetch 5 to 7 gold on the auction house:
The easiest thing to do is to just sell it on the Horde auction house, but if you really want to maximize your gold, you’ll want two accounts (on a PvP server), or an Alliance accomplice to get the item from the Horde side to the Alliance side. Since they are so rare in the Alliance auction house, you’ll want to make sure to spam trade chat to let everyone know that they are available.
Have fun selling twink gear… it’s a techinque we use quite a bit to Dominate Our Server.

Hey do you think you could try and find an item like the, Throat Piecers, but for allince?
Try checking the AH in Gadgetzan and Booty Bay, I have tried posting these on my server out of 20 Times on the neutral Ah I have never sold a single one. Maybe I’ll try starting a new account and buying them and reposting in a major alliance city.

der to the alli Booty bay AH for those of you lucky enough to be on a PVE server make a blood elf alt lvl it up or something and farm this item with it then when the time comes or you have stocked up a decent bit of these lovly items travel on down to booty bay put them up and buy them with your alli toon and utterly dominate the alliance toons its simple and drawn out process but the alli have nothing like this item sorta so you can sell it for more as an alli than as a horde say maybe 40-50g

I have done this before, 25g is not very hard to do. You may have to post it in the AH more than once though, no biggie. Two accounts are extremely helpful to pvp obviously, GL everyone.
It is possible to get these for alliance… yes these throat piercers
you just need a friends account/ trial account ( although im not sure if u can auction things on a trial account…) then make a hordie on your realm, and then go run down there and buy it, put it in an auction that crosses between horde and ally E.G, the gandgetzan one or the booty bay one ( there may be more…), then logg on to your alliance twink, and go buyout! put it in for more and then ur crappy lvl 1 horde will have more money to buy more seen as u bought it for more on ur ally char! goodlcuk :p, ( it can be hard to get this done… took me a while) search up my mates twink on armory

I usually love your guides, but this one is bullocks. It says the high price is 1000g. Nobody in their right mind would pay that for these.
Therefore, the “average price” is jacked WAY up, when you average in that 1000 gold. The average price is probably more like 30 silver.
Dave, you’re right, someone did pay 1000 gold for this once, and that does have a bearing on the average.
However, look at the median and the most common prices: 20 gold.
My team and I sell these for 15-30 gold almost every weekend on multiple servers. You can go to http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/price.html?witem=29584 and at the bottom (under Variations) click Show Details.
You’ll see the actual prices for the last 1000 sales that Allakhazam is tracking.
We’re paid to research this stuff every single day, so you can rest assured that I’m not gonna give you bum data.

I love all of your guides Gavin. But a lot of them are mainly for horde. I have a few horde but not very high levels’. Only in their mid 30’s. And I have a bunch of alliance that are all in their 70’s cept for my new 63 shammy. If you can get more for alliance I would really appreciate it.
heres a few tips for you guys, its gonna kill my gold intake but pfft.
First: There is a pattern bought in SS which costs 14s u may all alrdy no this but hey, its called ICY CLOAK this yeilds 5g.
Second this is for people around 35+, there is a rare pop in SS in the ogre caves (not giving name) and if hes there and u kill it its a guarateed 100g+

There seems to be a bit of concern over prices dropping when people start selling things like this. In all reality the laws of supply and demand make a price drop virtually impossible in this case.
Understand that this is a limited supply item. Since it only spawns once per day normally, supply is guaranteed to be limited even if you were to be the one to catch it every day.
The price point simply will not drop much, and should actually solidify and maybe even rise if there are always a couple of these in the AH.
Because it is already limited supply, even a hundred people on your particular server knowing about this item will not cause a spike in supply, causing the prices to drop if supply rises above demand.
So when you give out tips concerning limited supply items, your profit is safe, there is no need to worry that “everybody” will start doing this and you won’t make gold any more.
Also remember that there are nearly 9 million players on dozens of servers. The chances of more than one or two players on your server in your faction doing exactly what you read here is very very very small.

More seriously: 1 gold and a bar? in what period of time? uit takes TIME to level a character you know.
just find a level appropriate area and do the local quests. Use your tradeskills to your advantage.
use the auctionhouse. there are any number of THINGS you should do… 99% of them have already been discussed on this website.
a better item is the glaives of azzinoth but to get them u ned to kill illidan stormrage… he a lvl “??” boos somewhere in outland i think called the black temple u need to talk to a broken draenei guy called akama first.(the kool thing… if u fight illidan and you have akama, akama cant die!!!! mwahahahahah)
yeah. please email me ANY time you posibley can. i would love to hear about things that you can get for alliance. please can you find something for the alliance just like this that sells for TONS of gold to twinks? im a level 67 warlock on kalegos [alliance of corse]. name is trixo. i have recently just descovered lots of ways to make gold. friends ask me what i do to get so much gold at my level even though im not close to 70 yet. i didnt do my warlock quest and i just got the mount training and bought the mount itself for marks. well i have about 1500g i make 400g dailey from just the things that i do. one of the things that i do is that i had the perffestion enchanting. NOT WORKING. give it up. let the other people level that kind of stuff for you. if you have skining you will make a whole bunch of money. i took it up recently and came across 50g a day of heavy leather. i got the skill level to about 250 in a day of working on skining. could of done better. gavin i would like for you to send me an email some time and we can disscus more things. =] hope to hear from you.
i tryed sold those throat peicers on duskwood and split the loot with my freind (allaince) so we made some good gold thanks for the tip. 100g each of us without even putting it in the ah.

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a vendor item on the alliance side that does as well as throat piercers. All of the other twink items that ally can get their hands on are drops only and pretty hard to come by - thus the high AH prices.
BUT, you can do endless runs in Shadowfang if you like. Many of the great twink items come from there.
As far as skinning is concerned - this profession is VERY dependent on the age of the server. Skinning will make a LOT more money than mining on new servers, but over time, skinning becomes virtually worthless.
The reason for this has to do with the fact that you can get so many more skins in a farming run than ore. You see, ore has to be mined from a limited number of mining nodes, whereas skinning can be done on any skinnable mob.
Since there are hundreds of available mobs to skin in a given zone and relatively fewer nodes to mine in the same zone, the number of skins you can obtain will always be far greater than the number of mines you can farm.
Over time, the pressure on the market of the increased supply of skins over ore will press the price for skins down to the point where it’s just not worth much. Conversely - the price for ore will rise like a rocket since so many professions rely on metals.
Overall, you will find that on older servers mining will serve you far better than skinning - but on younger servers skinning will outpace mining.
Because of this, you have to be pretty smart about the true market prices of any particular profession ON YOUR SERVER. Every server sets its own market prices and these prices are completely independent of any other server.
I find it at a low lvl not to worry about money just buy stuff when u have the money most of your gear comes from AH and repairs rnt bad so juts buy skills when ever you have the cash.
I went down there and all she seems to sell are poison supplies. Does it HAVE to be an a BE character or something? Or what’s the deal?
Doogar - you don’t have to be Blood Elf. Remember, it’s a rare spawn item… She only has it a couple times a day, and if someone else has recently bought it on your server, it won’t be there until the next time it spawns (5-8 hours it seems like)

Not sure why you would call it a stupid scimitar. I sell both the piercer and scimitar for the same 16g day after day, even now some 6 months after this hint was first posted.
My scimitars always sell out the first time, while my piercers sometimes need to be posted a couple times. I post 3 piercers and (up to 3) scimitars at a time (I usually have fewer scimitars). Right now I have 17 piercers in stock and no scimitars. Lately I seem to be getting a couple piercers a day, and sales have dropped to about 1 per day.
Still, that is making 15g profit per day with only an occasional drop over into Ghostlands to check on current availability.
(All this on Arathor, btw)
there is a good version for allys it is not a item but pattern for tailers.its good for a 19 twink so sells quite good.vendor for this is in wetalnds at 25.25 the house horde cannot buy this all you can do is kill the shop.they are the red whelp glove pattern or sumthin eatch hit deals a fireball for sum amount of damage nice for rouge. shame on my sever almost noone does 19 twinks anymore.
Any tips for a lvl 55 Belf Warlock to get gold? Other than having to try to go back to the Belf place, boosting, and profesions?

Hey Gavin, i have been using your tips to help me in-game alot lately, i just want to say keep up the good work
First of all, I would like to say that I spelled “rogue” wrong on purpose… so don’t reply to this and be all “omg ur such an idoit you spelled rogue wrong”.
Second of all thanks a bunch Gavin, usually im too lazy to do anything that you suggest but this is easy and can make you some really good money! A good thing to do is help people out with hard quests in the GhostLands like “Knucklerot and Luzran” or “The Traitor’s Destruction”. This way, you can help people, (who might give you a reward becasue most BE toons are alts) and still get a chance for the Throat Piercers and the Sinister Scimitars.
For the alliance players out there looking for a range twink weapon the hand of angus (SP?) crossbow is a reward from a quest in drenai area. it has +1 stamina and +1 agi. It is now the best rogue twink weapon and the quest is doeable at lvl 19 without gaining exp. I dont kno if there is a simliar horde quest. I hope not since they already have throat piercers.
